Being inspired by artists in New York, Tomo started creating her own art in 2005. For the first few years, she focused mainly on using black & white colors, influenced by her 13-year experience as a master calligrapher. She also brought Japanese techniques into her work such as traditional paper cutouts. |

Around this time, Tomo’s artistic style completely changed. Her inspiration came from the colorful trees and flowers she witnessed during her hiking trips to the mountains. With “LOVE” “PEACE” “HAPPINESS” as the main theme, she began creating her signature bright color paintings. |

Tomo’s direction changed again when she discovered “healing art”, an art form that brings positive energy into the space and eases the suffering of the viewers. With a new motivation to help others, she began her work as a healing artist. In 2012, several of her pieces were collected by USC Medical Center. |

Currently, Tomo is working to promote her art in the US and Japan. Through her art, she hopes to help the people of Japan cope with last year’s earthquake and tsunami disaster. She is donating part of her proceeds to children who have lost their parents. |
